The difference between bacterial fertilizer, bacterial agent, organic fertilizer and soil conditioner can be understood after reading it!
Recently, I have seen people asking about the differences between bacterial fertilizer, bacterial agent, organic fertilizer and soil conditioner, and others asking what the role of soil conditioner is, and does it conflict with bacterial agent and organic fertilizer?
Among them, some people think that soil conditioner can not be used together with bacterial fertilizer, because soil conditioner is alkaline, which is not suitable for the growth of bacteria, and it will kill bacteria together with bacteria.
But in fact, there is no conflict between them and they can be mixed.
It can be seen that there are still some people who do not understand the concepts and differences of bacterial fertilizer, bacterial agent, organic fertilizer and soil conditioner, or even very vague.
Now let's take a look at their differences in concept, function and appearance?
Conceptual differences
1. Bacterial fertilizer vs bacterial agent
Many people think that bacterial fertilizer is bacterial agent, but in fact, bacterial agent is only one of bacterial fertilizer.
From the word of bacterial fertilizer alone, "bacterial fertilizer" means bacteria + fertilizer. Bacteria are all kinds of beneficial microorganisms. Fertilizer can be either organic fertilizer or inorganic fertilizer such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, medium and trace elements.
There are three kinds of bacterial fertilizer:
Bacterial agent: live bacteria + carrier
Compound microbial fertilizer: live bacteria + chemical fertilizer
Bio organic fertilizer: live bacteria + organic fertilizer (packaging)
What exactly is the bacterial agent we usually talk about? That is, the first kind above - agricultural microbial agent refers to the live bacterial preparation processed by target microorganisms (effective bacteria) after industrial production and expansion.
2. Organic fertilizer vs bio organic fertilizer
Bio organic fertilizer is also a kind of bacterial fertilizer. It is a kind of fertilizer with both microbial fertilizer and organic fertilizer effects, which is compounded by adding microbial strains with special functions, safety, effectiveness, clear source and species name on the basis of organic fertilizer.
The organic fertilizer we often say mainly refers to the carbonaceous materials derived from plants and / or animals and applied to the soil to provide plant nutrition as its main function.
Organic fertilizer is processed from biological substances, animal and plant wastes and plant residues, which eliminates toxic and harmful substances. It is also rich in a large number of beneficial substances, including a variety of organic acids, peptides and rich nutritional elements including nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
3. Soil conditioner
Soil conditioner refers to a material used in soil that can improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil.
Commercial soil conditioners are mostly compound preparations. A certain conditioner has a variety of characteristics and functions at the same time. It takes improving soil barrier factors as the main function, takes into account soil fertility, plant nutrition and even microbial status, and adds a small amount of fertilizer or microbial agents.
Difference in function and effect
1. Bacterial fertilizer
The main function of bacterial fertilizer is determined by living bacteria, which decomposes nutrients in the soil into nutrients that plants can absorb.
The effect of bacterial fertilizer is good or bad, which is reflected in the environment and activity of flora. In order to achieve a good effect of improving soil and prolonging soil service life, it is necessary to ensure that the bacteria are living and can reproduce continuously.
2. Bacterial agent
The main function of bacterial agent is to improve the soil aggregate structure, help crops take root, and degrade the residual herbicides, pesticides and other pesticides in the soil.
We judge whether a bacterial agent is good or not mainly by whether the effective number of viable bacteria of the bacterial agent meets the national standard (the minimum liquid reaches 200 million / ml, the minimum powder reaches 200 million / g, and the minimum particle reaches 100 million / g). Bacterial agents that fail to meet the standard cannot be purchased.
Now many people think that the bacterial agent is not labeled with organic matter, so they think that the bacterial agent is not good. This is a big mistake. Organic fertilizer focuses on organic matter.
3. Organic fertilizer
The main role of organic fertilizer is reflected in the organic matter in organic fertilizer, which can improve soil fertility, improve crop yield and improve the utilization rate of chemical fertilizer.
We judge whether the effect of an organic fertilizer is good or not, mainly depends on whether the molecular weight of organic matter (based on drying basis) reaches 45. If it does not reach 45, it indicates that it is unqualified and the natural effect is not good.
4. Soil conditioner
The main function of soil conditioner is to repair soil and improve soil quality.
However, it should be noted that some soil conditioners on the market increase the hardening of the soil, increase the amount of moss in the soil, destroy the soil structure and are not conducive to crop growth. This kind of soil conditioner is harmful but not beneficial.
Differences in appearance
1. Bacterial fertilizer
When we choose bacterial fertilizer, we can see from the packaging that the packaging bags of good products must be standardized, and the fertilizer registration certificate, Executive Standards and content are compliant, without exaggerated functional publicity.
Look at the product. If it is granular, the drum granulation should be round, and the extrusion granulation should be columnar, not into powder. This is a qualified and regular bacterial fertilizer.
2. Bacterial agent
When we look at the bacterial agent packaging, the general name of the product must be marked on the packaging: microbial agent; The executive standard of the product must also be indicated: gb20287-2006. If these two conditions are not met, the product certainly does not meet the national standard for microbial agents, that is, it is not a qualified microbial agent.
Both powder and granule can be dispersed in water to ensure uniform reproduction of bacteria in soil. When selecting, we soak the product in water for a period of time and stir it. If it can be dispersed, and there are few large particles at the bottom, it shows that the product is of good quality.
3. Organic fertilizer
The current implementation standard of organic fertilizer is ny525-2012, which replaces the original ny525-2011. According to the appearance color of organic fertilizer, the organic fertilizer dried by physical method still maintains the color of original feces, but the water is reduced. The color of organic fertilizer treated by composting technology becomes brown or dark brown after ripening, and there are no other impurities in the finished product.
4. Soil conditioner
The general standard for soil conditioner is NY / T 3034-2016. Good quality soil conditioner is generally yellow and gray; Medium quality soil conditioner is generally white; The defective soil conditioner is brown; Red soil conditioner is generally fake.
Differences in application time and method
1. Application time
Some growers will say that bacterial fertilizer can't be used together with chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer, but it can be mixed. What we need to remember is to mix it reasonably in time. It's better to use it separately before and after. If it doesn't work, use it now.
The effect of organic fertilizer is slow. Generally, it is applied once before sowing or planting, and the effect of topdressing in the later stage is not as obvious as that when it is used as base fertilizer.
Biological bacterial fertilizer can play the role of bacteriostasis only after a large number of reproduction in the soil. It can be applied into the soil together with organic fertilizer, or in holes before or during colonization.
2. Application method
The main function of organic fertilizer is to improve the soil, so it should be combined with deep tillage to completely mix the soil with organic fertilizer. We can also combine soil conditioner to better improve soil environment, balance nutrition and increase soil aggregate structure.
Because the amount of biological bacterial fertilizer is relatively small, we can apply it in the planting hole or at the bottom of the organic fertilizer. In the later stage, we can apply the same biological bacterial fertilizer for many times to expand the bacterial population and improve the ability of phosphorus and potassium dissolution and disease prevention effect.
